Original Item: Only one available. Here we have a great piece of World War II British Home front Anti-Axis propaganda, which allows you to "Flip Your Ashes" on the caricature of German leader Hermann Göring in the bottom of this small teacup-shaped ashtray. Home front items from WWII have always been highly collectible, and this lovely example was made by FIELDINGS, as indicated on the bottom of the cup. It measures about 2 inches across, not counting the handle, and is 1 3/8" inches call, made from glazed ceramic.
One side of the ash tray reads "JERRY NO. 2" over an Iron cross, poking fun at the well-known nickname for German soldiers and how Hermann Göring was AH’s number 2. The other side has a more lengthy message:
FLIP YOUR ASHES
ON OLD PIGGY
(Swas)
THE VIOLATION OF "POLAND"
The top of the cup bears stripes of the British colors BLUE, WHITE, and RED though the red has now faded to orange. Overall condition is very good, with a fantastic pattern of cracks and checking in the glaze, showing that this piece is definitely of great age.
Condition is very good, with the printing still crisp, and no signs of wear or staining. Just the thing for any WWII home front propaganda collector!
