Original Belgian WWI Issue French Model 1915 Adrian Helmet with Lion Head Badge Painted for French Peace Protest in 1974 with Inscriptions

Original Item: Only One Available. This is an interesting combat-worn example of a genuine World War I M-1915 Belgian Army "Adrian" steel helmet, which looks to have seen long service before and certainly after the war. The front of the helmet still has its original Belgian "Lion Head" badge. The helmet itself is painted a very bright blue with a Peace sign and PEACE painted in white. The underside of the brim is inscribed:

We aren’t sure what exactly the painter was protesting, but this will make for a fascinating research project. Considering that French is one of the primary languages of Belgium, it’s very possible that it was used in a Belgian protest as well.

The original later pattern liner is also stenciled with the number 19617657 and EC203373. Interesting markings. The liner itself may have been inserted later and is very loose in the helmet. The original chinstrap is retained and pliable. 

A very interesting helmet, ready for further research and display!
