The Story

Original Item. Only One Available. This is a gorgeous Civil War Era powder flask featuring a decorative pattern on the exterior. The flask was made by Thomas Sykes of Sheffield, one of the major British manufacturers of the Industrial Revolution. This business began to manufacture powder flasks around 1817 and went out of business between 1862 and 1864, making this a verifiable Civil War period flask!

The flask measures approximately 8¾” long. The spout still screws on and off without issue, and the spout functions as intended. The lid is screwed in, so we could not remove the entire piece, just the spout. There is no powder remaining in the flask. There are four small posts with small rings attached for a carrying strap. This example dates to the pre-Civil War period. A very beautiful flask that will fit well into any Civil War or 19th Century firearm collection!
