The Story

Original Item. Only One Available. This is a scarce example of a WWI British D-Shaped mess kit. The Mess Tin is two parts and made of tin plated steel with a seam down one side and with a wire carrying handle. There is a retractable handle in the lid for use as a pan.

This example is not maker-marked that we can find, but is stamped along the rim 18 over a Broad arrow, for 1918. The mess kit measures roughly 7 x 4½ x 4½. The mess kit has heavy wear and some oxidation.

A great example, ready for further research and display.
