Original Item: Only One Available. Here we have a lovely British Army Officer's Dress Peaked Visor Cap, intended for a Colonel or Brigadier (General) rank. It has the correct single row of gilt raised bullion oak leaves across the peak. Higher ranks would have a double row of bullion oak leaves, while lower ranks would have just a bullion band. Dating from WWII, the size is roughly a 6¾.
The front has the correct Lion over a Queens's Crown embroidered bullion badge with red and black felt. The interior features a partially detached sweatband with some of the material of the cap breaking off in crumbs. There is a maker’s label reading:
HAWKES & CO. LTD.
1, SAVILE ROW. W.
LATE
14, PICADILLY
The cap is in overall fair shape on the exterior, with the only serious issues being on the interior. The interior makeup of the cap is still crumbling a bit, but it should not disrupt the displayability of the cap.
Comes ready for further research and display.
