Original British WWII Inert 57mm Artillery Round For The Ordnance Quick-Firing 6-pounder 7 cwt “6 Pounder” - Dated 1942

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a fantastic example of a rather hard to find British artillery round from WWII. The round itself is for the “6 Pounder” Anti-Tank gun and is offered in “complete” condition without a primer. The round is totally inert and void of any explosive content. It is in total compliance with the current BATF standards governing ordnance.

The Ordnance Quick-Firing 6-pounder 7 cwt, or just 6-pounder, was a British 57 mm gun, serving during the Second World War as a primary anti-tank gun of both the British and United States Army (as the 57 mm Gun M1). It was also used as the main armament for a number of armored fighting vehicles.

Although designed before the start of the war, it did not reach service until the North African Campaign in April 1942. There, it replaced the 2-pounder as an anti-tank gun, allowing the 25-pounder gun-howitzer to revert to its intended artillery role.

The round stands at 23 ¼” tall with a 3 ⅜” base. Most of the original black paint is present on the projectile, with white and red paint still retained at the tip, though the markings are faded and difficult to read. The complete round weighs 10 pounds.
