Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a very fine example of a W. F. Stanley prismatic survey or artillery compass, dating to around 1940. This example is unit-marked to the 5016th Airfield Construction Squadron, a good research project.
The lid comes off of the compass so the pieces can be set up correctly. The lid is marked STANLEY LONDON / MADE IN ENGLAND with the painted marking 5016 A.C. SQUADRON.
The compass comes in its original leather case which is velvet-lined. A great example, ready for further research and display!
