The Story
Original Item. Only One Set Available. This is a tremendous and scarce set of two magazines for the French Chauchat machine gun manufactured during World War I. One of the two magazines is stamped SA in a rectangle, for the Finnish Army (Suomen Armeija), which did use the Chauchat during WWI and after. The transit case for the magazines is marked SK.Y in a rectangle, denoting Finnish manufacture.
The magazines are both in great service-used condition with various markings and paint. Both retain the interior springs and have scattered oxidation but are still covered in oil.
The original green-painted transit case measures 11 ½ x 6 x 2” not including the metal ring at one corner. Both of the leather belt loops are intact, and the leather securing strap and knob at the top are retained as well, rare to see! Also retained is the pull strap to one side, which when pulled pushes the magazines out the top.
A very scarce set to find complete, ready to complement your Chauchat!
