The Story
Original Item. Only One Available. This is a tremendous example of a scarce French officer’s greatcoat from World War II. This example has cuff ranks for a 2nd Lieutenant, and collar tabs denoting the 22nd Regiment.
The greatcoat is enormous and still bears the six plain brass buttons at the front. The original tightening strap on the back is present, as are the buttons. There are no markings on the interior that we could find. There is some light moth tracking on the interior, but nothing terribly serious.
The cuffs have great hand-stitched silver tape 2nd Lieutenant stripes. Both collar ends have hand-stitched diamonds with bullion 22s stitched in.
We couldn’t find much information on this regiment, making for a good research project. This is a tremendous greatcoat, ready for further research and display!
