Original Items: Only One Set Available. This is a very nice collection of German WWII Tinnie Event Badges, which was brought back from the European theater by a USGI after the war was concluded. Many solders traded these on the way back, and would end up with a pocket full of various examples, and this set represents the typical "haul" one might have come back with.
This lovely tinnie set includes:
- One German Pre-WWII SACHSEN 25.III.34 metal tinnie. We assume this is for the support or foundation of the SA group in Saxony, Germany.
- One German Pre-WWII GAU BERLIN RUNDER PLATZ (Berlin Round Sqaure) plastic tinnie.
- One German WWII Small Plastic German Heer Army Infantry Parade Standard Flag.
- One German Pre WWII Deutscher Luthertag 10. November 1933 metal tinnie. Commemorates the birthday of Martin Luther.
- One German Pre WWII FĂźr Mutter u. Kind 1934 (For Mother and Child) WHW (Winter Help Work) Mothers Day cloth tinnie
There are also 19 other Tinnie Event badges and similar, which represent a wide variety of styles and purposes, which represent some great potential for identification and translation research!
A great set of German WWII memorabilia, ready to add to your collection!
More information on some of the awards in this set:
"Tinnies" (Veranstaltungsabzeichen - Event Badges) are small commemorative pins or medals, acquired when one attended a specific event held in Germany. They were often made of thin stamped metal, bakelite, or even pressed paper. Many of these were given out as part of the WHW (Winterhilfswerk - Winter Help Work) Organization, which often involved Germans traveling quite a bit to help out the war effort. Many others were given for the annual Reichsparteitag (Reich Party Congress), otherwise known as the Nuremberg Rallies.
