Original German Pre-WWII Reichswehr Army Nickel Silver Belt Buckle With Belt and Saber Ring

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very good condition Pre-WWII German Reichswehr Heer (Army) EM/NCO's Pebbled Nickel Silver Belt Buckle (Koppelschloß). The buckle is embossed with the Heer motto GOTT MIT UNS ("God with us") surrounding a Weimar German Eagle. The design is basically the same as the previous Prussian Buckle, but the Crown is replaced with the Eagle. It is constructed of Solid Nickel Silver, with a pebbled body and soldered on front insignia. This design was in service from approximately 1921 to 1936, when the central Weimar eagle was replaced with the NDSAP Reichsadler. The design was used by both the Reichsheer (Army) and Reichsmarine (Navy).

The buckle is in very good condition, with just some light wear and the expected oxidation from age. The belt is in equally good condition with minor crazing present in the finish. The initials M.P. are carved into the back and there is a faded maker’s mark starting with Franz, a good research project. The belt measures 28 3/4” in length. There is an attached saber ring, a rare treat.
