Original German WWI - WWII Medal, Tinnie, and Insignia Lot Featuring KvKII with Swords and Sports Team Badge - 28 Items

Original Items: Only One Set Available. This is a very nice collection of German WWI - WWII Insignia, Tinnies, and Awards, which was brought back from the European theater by a USGI after the war was concluded. Many solders traded these on the way back, and would end up with a pocket full of various different collectible items, and this set represents the typical "haul" one might have come back with.

It includes a wide variety of items, including:
- One German WWII War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords (Kriegsverdienstkreuz II Klasse mit Schwertern) wit ribbon. The award has lost all of the bronze wash, now displaying a patinated look to the alloy body. The ribbon is in very good shape, and we were not able to see any maker information on the hanger ring.
- One German WWII SA-Wehrmannschaft Defense Team Sports Training Badge in Gold Grade by Bonner Kunstabzeichen Bedarf Fabrik: Known in German as the sportabzeichen, these were awarded to members of the SA for athletic achievement during the annual sports festivals. These were all part of a larger SA-Wehrmannschaft program, intended to train members of the SA for local defense if needed. This example is marked on the back with issue number 151908. It is made of brass with traces of the original gilding.
- German WWII Italian African Campaign Medal, without ribbon
- Heavily Oxidized Embroidered Panzer Cap eagle.

"Tinnies" (Veranstaltungsabzeichen - Event Badge) are small commemorative pins or medals, acquired when one attended a specific event held in Germany. They were often made of thin stamped metal, bakelite, or even pressed paper. Many of these were given out as part of the WHW (Winterhilfswerk - Winter Help Work) Organization, which often involved Germans traveling quite a bit to help out the war effort.
