Original Item: Only One Available. This is a beautiful example of a rare GermanWWII 1st Class with Oak Leaves Civil Service Faithful Service medal, a special class given for 50 years of service. It comes complete with its original ribbon pin inside the original presentation case, marked on the inside lid by desirable maker Deschler & Sohn of München (Munich).
The medal is in excellent condition, with almost no wear or damage to the medal itself, just the expected tarnishing on the silver plated portions of the award. The 50 on the top arm of the cross looks to originally have had a gold wash, but it may have flaked away due to tarnish. The gold wreath is still quite bright, showing just a few areas of oxidation. This is the first time we have had one of these awards in this lovely condition. The original leatherette case is also in great shape, with the correct 50 inside a laurel wreath on the top. The hinge and lock are fully functional, and the inside has minimal deterioration to the satin top and velvet bottom, though the lining is mostly torn through over the hinge.
A great example of a very hard to find 50 Year Civil Service award, ready to display!
