Original German WWII Aluminum M31 Canteen with Tropical Canvas Harness & Aluminum Cup by Carl Feldhaus Aluminium-und Metallwerke - Matched and Dated 1942 & 1943

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice original German Deutsches Afrikakorps (DAK) M31 Aluminum tropical canteen (Tropen Feldflasche), complete with its bakelite cap, steel cup, canvas carry strap, and genuine wool cover. All pieces are marked for manufacture by Carl Feldhaus Aluminium-und Metallwerke, Lüdenscheid.

The canteen body itself is marked CFL42, and there is a mold number marking on the bakelite cap as well. The companies that made the Aluminum components for canteens often did not use three letter codes, so these are actually abbreviations of the makers name, and the date. CFL is the maker code for Carl Feldhaus Aluminium-und Metallwerke, Lüdenscheid. The steel canteen cup still has much of the original paint and bears the same marking CFL43 in between the handles for 1943 manufacture by Carl Feldhaus.

The wool cover has the correct early issue 4 snaps, which are marked on the back. It has the correct tropical canvas loops which hold the carrier, which is made of the same DAK color cotton web. The cover is stamped CFL42 for 1942 manufacture by the same maker, Carl Feldhaus.

Overall a very nice chance to pick up a good condition German DAK canteen which is all matching.
