Original Item: Only One Available. After the collapse of Czechoslovakia in 1938 to the Germans, the Czech Arms Industry was converted to produce weapons for German Troops. This included the Czech VZ 24 Mauser Rifle, which was re-designated VZ24(t), as in German the word Czechoslovakia starts with a "t".
The VZ24t bayonets produced under German occupation were made without muzzle ring, and this example is marked on the ricasso with German three letter code dot, for Waffenwerke Brünn in Czechoslovakia. This factory was the famous Zbrojovka Brno in Brno, Czechoslovakia before being captured by Germany during WWII. The other side bears serial number 4463 / h, and the pommel is marked with Waffenamt Eagle / 53, the correct inspection marking for Waffenwerke Brünn. The bayonet is in good condition, looking to have seen moderate use, and the pommel and crossguard suffered some oxidation as shown. The mortise button lock still works great, and the blade is in good lightly used condition with oxidation spotting and loss of finish.
The scabbard that came with the bayonet is correct, marked on the frog stud with a Waffenamt stamp, 53. The back is marked dot 42 for 1942 manufacture by the same Waffenwerke Brünn in Czechoslovakia. The scabbard is mostly straight, though it does have some dents, and the original finish became oxidized.
A very good example of a German occupation era VZ24(t) bayonet with a correct scabbard. Ready to research and display!
