Original German Pre WWII "Deutschland erwacht" NSDAP Cigarette Card Album with Intact Ernst Röhm Picture

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a rare Deutschland erwacht: Werden, Kampf und Sieg der NSDAP (Germany Awakes: The formation, battle and victory of the NSDAP) hardcover "cigarette card" album. These were a companion to the NSDAP produced "documentary" propaganda film, Deutschland erwacht – Ein Dokument von der Wiedergeburt Deutschlands (Germany Awakes - A documentary of the Rebirth of Germany). This example is edition 101-200. Tausend (101-200 Thousand), so it was printed in the early 1930s by Cigaretten=Bilderdienst (Cigarette Picture Service) of Altona-Bahrenfeld.

Very early editions of this still retained pictures of Ernst Röhm, before he was executed during the "Night of the Long Knives", and on page 52 we can see his portrait picture, which was not later defaced or removed! There are also pictures of Röhm in the section of the book about the SA, pages 128-131. He would later be replaced by Viktor Lutze, and all pictures and mention removed from later editions of the book.

It is approximately 150 pages long, hardcover, and features a huge number of glued in pictures, as well as some very impressive portraits of the top level NSDAP leadership. It even still has the MASSIVE foldout picture of the 1933 NSDAP rally in Nürnberg, which is 12 inches wide and over 4 FEET long! It measures approximately 9 1/2"W x 12 1/2"H x 1", and is offered in very good used condition. This is one of many collectible books released after the NSDAP rise to power in 1933, and is both a collector's book as well as a history book. There is wear and some tearing to the pages, particularly on the long fold-out section at the rear. It looks to have been read cover to cover multiple times during the NSDAP period, and possibly after.

A great piece of WWII early NSDAP memorabilia and propaganda, ready to research and display! This is the first example we have had of one of these with Ernst Röhm still present, which are not common due to how soon after publication he was executed.
