Original German WWII Feldfernsprecher FF 33 Field Telephone by Telefonbau & Normalzeit dated 1938 and 1942

Original Item: Only One Available. The feldfernsprecher (field telephone) 33 (FF33) was the standard field telephone of the German military forces of WWII. It is a general purpose field telephone designed for wired communications. It was introduced in 1933 as a modern replacement for the previous WWI legacy field telephones the last of the series being the feldfernsprecher 26 (1926). The FF33 can also be connected to the Torn. Fu. D2 and Torn. Fu. Bl, and F series radio sets to act as a remote handset.

Ingeniously designed with what appears to be one traditional wartime style handset, the lid interior of one has built in electrical circuit schematics for informational purposes. Used by the German Army throughout WW2 and continued in service for another 25 years into the Cold War era.

This example is offered in very good condition with a complete brown bakelite case, handset, crank handle, all four data plates, and is 1938 & 1942 dated. There is even still a battery in the compartment, though we do not know if it is an original or a reproduction. The inner steel housing is maker marked and dated as follows:

The "Interlocking N T in a Diamond" marking is the logo used at the time by Telefonbau & Normalzeit GbmH of Frankfurt am Main, Germany, which eventually became a part of Tenovis, which was then acquired by Avaya in 2004. There were many companies manufacturing these during WWII.

The bakelite handset is marked with a Waffenamt WaA900 near the hanger clip, and then has a maker marking and the date 1942, so this is definitely WWII issue. The cord still has the original fabric covering and circuit diagram marked steel end plug.  There is also a Waffenamt on the metal housing under the white Prüftaste (test button). The housing measures approximately 11" W x 8 1/2" H x 4".

We have not tested this for functionality but it appears to be complete and in working order. Offered in very good collectible condition, these have become increasingly difficult to find over the past decade. Ready to add to your collection and display!
