The Story
Original Item. Only One Available. The Gewehr 43 or Karabiner 43 (abbreviated G43, K43, Gew 43, Kar 43) was a 7.92×57mm Mauser caliber semi-automatic rifle developed by Germany during World War II. The design was based on that of the earlier G41(W), but incorporated an improved short-stroke piston gas system similar to that of the Soviet Tokarev SVT-40. It was manufactured using innovative mass-production techniques. The rifle was designed for many uses, including use as a sniper rifle, which would include the Gw ZF 4 Sniper scope.
This is a scarce but very worn magazine for the G43, which still retains good markings. The paint is nearly all gone with some still chipping off. Along the bottom edge on one side is stamped gcb denoting manufacture by Ad. Grohmann & Sohn Metallwarenfabrik. Next to this is a Waffenamt stamp, WaA892, next to K43. Near the top on the same side is the same Waffenamt stamp.
Still functions well but could use a good cleaning. Ready for further research and display.
