The Story

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a lovely BeVo style machine embroidered Wehrmachtadler breast eagle from a German WWII Heer (Army) Enlisted Man's or NCO's HBT Drilljacke Tunic. Originally intended for drill use, these became standard issue in the field as they were more resilient to damage. The eagle is the standard 1940 pattern light green background with a gray blue thread embroidered eagle. These were worn on the breast of the uniform tunic, just above and partly on the pocket.

This example was cut off a uniform, complete with the surrounding fabric, and definitely looks to have been a "rush job" due to how rough the cutting is. The insignia is about 4 1/4" x 1 5/8", with the uniform section measuring approximately 4 3/4" x 3". The uniform section is the correct HBT blue green fabric used in a Drilljacke, and it is attached with the correct machine stitching. There is even a bit of the sleeve lining and inner pocket on the back.

A great example of a German WWII "Cut Off" eagle, ready to display!
