The Story

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a lovely machine embroidered Wehrmachtadler breast eagle from a German WWII Heer (Army) M35 Wool Waffenrock Dress Tunic. The eagle is the post 1940 pattern, with light background and silver metal thread embroidered eagle, woven onto a feldgrau (field gray) backing. These were worn on the right breast of the Waffenrock, which did not have any exterior pockets.

This example was cut off a uniform, complete with some surrounding fabric, and looks to have been relatively well cut. The insignia is about 4 1/2" x 1 3/4", with the uniform section measuring approximately 5" x 2". After being removed, the eagle and fabric did suffer moth damage to the wool portions, which has resulted in loss of almost all of the fuzzy "nap" on the fabric, and also damaging the backing in areas as shown.

A very nice example of a German WWII "Cut Off" eagle, ready to display!
