Original Item. Only One Available. This is a very interesting artillery round which we cannot positively identify. It appears German from the World War II era, but the head does not appear to be original to it. The round itself has a smaller base which may suggest it originally had a wooden sabot on the end. We could not get the round to fully unscrew from the base. The entire set measures 18 ¼” tall, while the round itself is 16½” tall. Like all deactivated ordnance, this round is Not Available for Export.
The wooden base upon which the round sits measures 7 ¼ x 9 ½ x 1½” and is in rough shape with heavy cracking. The round is screwed in by a large bolt. The round has two driving bands near the base, and the metal head has a very small separation between it and the rest of the round. There are no markings we could find, however.
A very interesting round that will look fine for display.
