Original German WWII Insignia, Stickpin, and Medal Grouping with KvKII with Swords - 12 Items

Original Items: Only One Set Available. This is a very nice collection of German WWII Insignia & Awards, which was brought back from the European theater by a USGI after the war was concluded. Many solders traded these on the way back, and would end up with a pocket full of various different collectible items, and this set represents the typical "haul" one might have come back with. It includes a KvKII award, as well as various other insignia and stickpins.

This lovely set includes:

- One German WWII War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords (Kriegsverdienstkreuz II Klasse mit Schwertern) with Ribbon. This looks to be an early example made from solid brass, and it has a lovely gold patina with just a it of oxidation. The ribbon is in good shape, with the colors well retained, showing some fraying at the ends. The hanger ring is not marked, but this is not uncommon.

- One German WWII Army Heer Medical Officer Field Litzen Collar Tab - Left Side. This shows the correct bullion construction on a flaschengrün (dark bottle-green) badge cloth backing. The central stripes are the correct medizinblau (medical blue) color, the Waffenfarbe (Corps Color) for the Sanitätstruppe (Military medical service).

- One German WWII Army Heer Cavalry Officer Dress Tunic Litzen Collar Tab - Left Side. This shows the correct bullion construction on a Goldgelb (Golden Yellow) cloth backing, the Waffenfarbe (Corps Color) for Cavalry, as well as reconnaissance and armored reconnaissance units with cavalry traditions.

- One German WWII Kriegsmarine Navy Bevo Cap Eagle Insignia, as used with the field gray uniform set.

- One German WWII SA Reserve Member Stickpin.

- Original German WWII DAF Labor Front Werkscharen Factory Worker Cap Badge.

- One German WWII NSKOV War Victims Care Visor Cap Eagle Insignia. In good condition with a safety pin type attachment on the back. The front has lost the silvered wash, while the back is still shiny.

- One German Pre WWII Early Pattern SA Kepi National Eagle insignia. All four attachment prongs are present.

- One German Pre WWII Late Pattern SA Kepi National Eagle insignia. Both attachment prongs are missing.

- One German WWII Heer Army Visor Cap aluminum oak leaf wreath insignia.

- One German WWII Heer Army Visor Cap aluminum tri-color cockade with a red felt insert.

- One German WWII NSBO National Socialist Factory Cell Organization Cap Badge.

War Merit Cross 2nd Class (Kriegsverdienstkreuz) with Swords (for Combat)
This was a decoration of NSDAP Germany during the Second World War, which could be awarded to military personnel and civilians alike. By the end of the war it was issued in four degrees, and had a related civil decoration. It was created by Adolf AH in October 1939 as a successor to the non-combatant Iron Cross which was used in earlier wars. The award was graded the same as the Iron Cross: War Merit Cross Second Class, War Merit Cross First Class, and Knights Cross of the War Merit Cross. The award had two variants: with swords given to soldiers for exceptional service "not in direct connection with combat", and without swords for meritorious service to civilians in "furtherance of the war effort". As with the Iron Cross, Recipients had to have the lower grade of the award before getting the next level.
