Original German WWII Kriegsmarine 1.5m Command Pennant Streamer Flag

Original Item: Only One Available. This an lovely example of a WWII German Kriegsmarine Navy Command Pennant Streamer flag, sometimes called a "Commander Pennant". These were one of many command flags used by the Kriegsmarine while vessels were underway, or even when they were still in the yard. This particular style, was typically displayed only when entering port or while docked, attached to the naval flag.

It feels like it is made from a wool or wool cotton blend body, with a canvas header surrounding a halyard rope that has small loops on both ends. The design features a printed Kriegsmarine Navy black Tatzenkreuz (cross pattée) with a white border, used on Kriegsmarine command flags and pennants. It is very thin, with a swallowtail end, as it was intended to attach to other flags. It is marked 1,5 on one side, giving the 1.5m length, and the other side has the correct Kriegsmarine Eagle / M acceptance stamp.

This example is in good condition, showing age toning overall, along with a bit of light staining. There are some small tears and holes from service and storage, but no major damage or mothing. This has given it a fantastic "been there" look.
