Original German WWII Luftwaffe Survival Dinghy Paddle Oar & Foot Air Pump with Bakelite-Capped Rubber Tube for Raft - Emergency Petrol & Water Canteens
Original German WWII Luftwaffe Survival Dinghy Paddle Oar & Foot Air Pump with Bakelite-Capped Rubber Tube for Raft - Emergency Petrol & Water Canteens
The Story
Original Items. Only One Group Available. This is a very scarce set of Luftwaffe survival items including the scarce 3-piece aluminum paddle/oar with a full data plate, a foot-operated air pump with bakelite fittings and a connecting tube, and two great oversized emergency canteens for water and fuel.
The three-piece paddle measures 60½” when put together. The paddle is 5¼” wide. The original data plate reads:
Gerat: Bootsriemen
Bauart v. Kehler u. Stelling
Gerat-Nr: 10-55
Werk. Nr.
Anforderz. Fl. 30026
Hersteller: v. Kehler u. Stelling
There is basic wear but the set is in great shape. The foot pump is in very good condition for its age. It still works, and the bakelite fittings are in great shape. There are faint stamps in the wood but none of them are intact enough to read. The pump itself measures 7 ¼ x 9 x 12”. The rubberized tube is roughly 36” at the most we could stretch it.
The water emergency canteen is stamped on the cap ESB 42 for Eduard Sommerfeld, Berlin. The original wooden handle is retained but very worn. It and the other canteen measures 11” long without the handle.
The petrol emergency canteen is painted yellow and has a partially intact painted marking reading BENZIN / Feuergefӓbrich, but there is extreme wear as shown. The wooden handle is gone but the wire handle is still present.
A fantastic set of Luftwaffe issue survival gear, ready for display.
