Original German WWII NSDAP Adolf H - Pictures of the Life of Der Führer Cigarette Card Album - All Cards Present

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a rare example of an early hardcover NSDAP "Cigarette Card Album", titled Adolf Hi***r: Bilder aus dem Leben des Führer (Pictures from the life of the leader). These were produced as propaganda, meant to popularize the NSDAP version of the life of "Der Führer" after they successfully took over power in 1933. These were purchased without the included pictures, which were then received along with packs of cigarettes. This served the dual purpose of helping to stiffen the packaging, as well as being collectible items. This example is a very early edition 701.-800. Tausend (701-800 Thousand), printed in approximately 1937 by Cigaretten=Bilderdienst (Cigarette Picture Service) of Altona-Bahrenfeld, with a copyright date of 1936.

It is approximately 133 pages long, hardcover, and features a huge number of glued in pictures, as well as some very impressive portraits of the top level NSDAP leadership during the early days. It measures approximately 9 3/4"W x 12 3/8"H x 3/4", and is offered in good condition. This is one of many collectible books released after the NSDAP rise to power in 1933, and is both a collector's book as well as a history book.

As far as we can tell, the album is complete, with all photograph cards still present. However, the glue did squeeze out in a few places over the decades, so a few pages are stuck together. The cover of the book has suffered wear, and the spine portion has torn through on one side. On the interior there are numerous pages either partially or completely torn off, though all pages are still present. The pages also have yellowed due to age, and the corners of the book show wear. Still, the photo cards are for the most part still shiny, and firmly attached to the pages.
