Original German WWII NSDAP Political National Pennant Flag with Arbeitsamt Depot Stamp and RZM Tag - 11 1/4" x 18"

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very good condition WWII German NSDAP Political National Wimpel (Pennant) Flag, which measures a very displayable 18 inches in fly by 11 1/4 inches in hoist. These were usually flown inside, as it is not quite the weight of fabric needed to survive outdoors. It is of all cotton construction, and is double sided with single piece cotton white circles bearing printed black swases (hook crosses) sewn onto both sides. There the hoist end is sewn around a small lanyard, with loops at both end for securing the pennant.

The header edge of the pennant features an original glued on paper RZM tag which is a complete example, showing fading and light staining. The tag has a correct “M” tax code and features a ((RZM)) logo. The ink stamped numerical designation of the Herſteller: (manufacturer) is A4/167 and has the lot № 013616 beneath it. Stamped partly over the tag is a Reichsadler depot stamp, which reads Arbeitsamt (Employment Agency) on the top, while we were not able to read the word on the bottom.

Condition is very good, showing just a bit of age toning overall, as well as a few areas of staining and some soiling. The red field is still quite vibrant, and this would definitely make an eye catching display piece, which also has some very nice research potential.

The NSDAP, Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, (National Socialist German Worker’s Party), was originally founded in Munich as the DAP, Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, (German Worker’s Party), on January 5TH 1919. When Adolf AH joined the DAP in the autumn of 1919 he was to reform what was basically a debating society into an active political party. Appointed as the first chairman of the party on July 29TH 1921 AH was to restructure it along para-military lines in a hierarchy of four levels of government.
