Original Item: Only One Available. The National Socialist Flyers Corps (Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps; NSFK) was a paramilitary organization of the NSDAP Party that was founded 15 April 1937 as a successor to the German Air Sports Association; the latter had been active during the years when a German air force was forbidden by the Treaty of Versailles. The NSFK organization was based closely on the para-military organization of the Sturmabteilung (SA). A similar group was the National Socialist Motor Corps (NSKK).
During the early years of its existence, the NSFK conducted military aviation training in gliders and private airplanes. Friedrich Christiansen, originally a Generalleutnant then later a Luftwaffe General der Flieger, was NSFK KorpsfĂĽhrer from 15 April 1937 until 26 June 1943, followed by Generaloberst Alfred Keller until 8 May 1945.
This is a lovely piece of NSFK propaganda, a paper model airplane, certainly meant to foster support and interest in the organization from children. The parts and instructions for the plane are printed on a medium weight piece of paper measuring 11 3/4" 16 3/4, and the box in the lower right corner identifies the piece:-
Flugmodell
„Jederzeit flugbereit“
Herausgegeben vom
KorpsfĂĽhrer des NS-Fliegerkorps
This translates to "Model aircraft 'Ready to fly at any time' Published by the Corps Leader of the NS Flying Corps". There are several included small paper swas emblems, possibly intended to decorate the plane, or just as decorations.
It is in very good condition, showing the expected age toning, and also a small tear on the top edge. Due to the condition of the paper, we do not recommend trying to assemble the airplane, as the paper would probably not withstand it, and it would also devalue the piece.
A great piece of WWII NSFK memorabilia, ready to research and display!
NOTE: This will ship rolled up, as that is how it has been stored for decades.
