The Story

Original Item: Only One available. The National Socialist Association of Legal Professionals (Nationalsozialistischer Rechtswahrerbund, NSRB) was the professional organization of German legal professionals (lawyers, judges, public prosecutors, notaries and legal academics) in the third reich from 1936 to 1945. It was founded as the Association of National Socialist German Legal Professionals (Bund Nationalsozialistischer Deutscher Juristen, or BNSDJ), in 1928 and adopted its later name in 1936, as with most organizations in the country did as the NSDAP took them over. It adopted a new logo, an art deco style eagle with a blade for legs, with a superimposed "scales of justice" with a Swas in the center over a person.

As with other NSDAP organizations that had formal events, the NSRB commissioned silverware to use, with the Insignia stamped onto the end of the handle. This is a very nice example of an NSRB marked fork, most likely a salad fork, measuring approximately 7 1/4" in length. It looks to have seen a good amount of wear, however the plating is mostly intact, showing some areas where the nickel silver base metal is visible. It is marked on the back of the handle with the logo of Wellner, a known maker of German Silverware: WELLNER PATENT (90) [30].

On silver plated German flatware, the number next to the maker name or trademark indicates the weight in grams used for silvering 12 forks and 12 spoons. 90 is the most frequent, and there are sometimes additional numbers, which are often not entirely understood.

A great piece of third reich memorabilia, ready to add to your collection!
