The Story
Original Items: Only One Set Available. This is a very nice collection of German WWIIÂ Army Feldgendarmerie (Military Police) Insignia, which was brought back from the European theater by a USGI after the war was concluded. Many solders traded these on the way back, and would end up with a pocket full of various different collectible items, and this set represents the typical "haul" one might have come back with.
This lovely set includes:
- One embroidered German WWII Feuerschutzpolizei NCO Ärmelhoheitsabzeichen (Fire Protection Police Arm Eagle Insignia) from the Berlin-Tempelhof District. The badge features the correct navy blue background with karminrot (carmine red) embroidery, the correct Truppenfarbe (troop color) for the fire police. In November 1941, all Police Sleeve Eagles could cease to have district markings, so this was made prior to that. This example is made from wool felt, and does not look to have been attached to a uniform.
- One embroidered German WWII Feuerschutzpolizei NCO Ärmelhoheitsabzeichen (Fire Protection Police Arm Eagle Insignia) from the Wolfsheim District. The badge features the correct navy blue background with karminrot (carmine red) embroidery, the correct Truppenfarbe (troop color) for the fire police. In November 1941, all Police Sleeve Eagles could cease to have district markings, so this was made prior to that. This example is made from from wool fabric with a cotton backing, and has stitching at the edges, indicating it was removed from a uniform.
- One BeVo Embroidered German WWII Wasserschutzpolizei Ärmelhoheitsabzeichen (Water Protection Police Arm Eagle Insignia). It features the correct navy blue background and golden yellow embroidery. There is no district marking, so it was made post 1941. It looks to be unissued.
- One German WWII Paper Polizei Eagle, the purpose of which we have not been able to determine.
- One German WWII Luftwaffe Flight Branch Officer Shoulder Strap for Leutnant (2nd Lieutenant) Rank.
- One German WWII Luftwaffe Flight Branch Officer Collar Tab for Hauptmann (Captain) Rank.
- One German WWII NSRKB National Socialist State Veteran's Association BeVo armband insignia, unissued.
- One German WWII NSDAP Armband Insignia Sheet with Two Printed Swas emblems showing a dot outline, where they would be cut out / sewn.
A wonderful totally genuine grouping perfect for the WW2 German collector.
