Original German WWII Rare Heer HBT Panzer Wrapper Unteroffizier NCO Uniform Tunic Dated 1944 with Iron Cross Ribbon - Panzer Wrap

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a great example of a highly desirable and iconic mid-war Heer Panzer Enlisted Man’s “Panzer Wrap” tunic, in the "Field Combat" HBT fabric construction. After 1942 there was an official summer issue HBT Feldbluse uniform designed for field and combat use for the army, a descendant of the "Drillich" fabric drill uniforms during the pre-war period. They manufactured M40, M42, and later M44 patterns in this fabric. This example retains the Totenkopf skulls on the collar.

This textbook example is made from the correct Heer gray HBT fabric, and has 11 plastic buttons on the front right closure of gray plastic material. There are two small white colored plastic buttons at the bottom right edge of the closure.

The tunic is adorned with the usual rank and branch insignia used on German tunics. It has a green / gray triangular BeVO machine embroidered breast eagle beautifully-stitched on the right wrap. The collar is fitted with Panzer EM/NCO Kragenspiegelen (Collar Tabs), which are made using the correct black wool base material. Both feature rosa (rose- pink) piping around the edge. This is the Waffenfarbe (Corps Color) for the Panzertruppen (Armored Forces), as well as Kraftfahrkampftruppe - Kraftfahrtruppen (Motor Vehicle Combat Troops). In the middle of each tag is a great Danziger style Totenkopf (Death's Head) insignia. 

The sew-in style Unteroffiziere ohne Portepee Schulterklappen (Junior NCO shoulder straps) sewn to the tunic are in great condition, made from the correct gray fabric and featuring a row of silver NCO tresse going around the perimeter, open at the ends. There are no rank "pips" installed on the shoulder straps, indicating the rank of Unteroffizier, an NCO rank equivalent to a U.S. Army Sergeant. They have the correct pink piping, matching the collar tabs. Along the edge of the left flap is a period-stitched Iron Cross 1939 2nd Class ribbon with a piece of felt stitched to the other side to keep it stable, a fantastic detail. There are two award loops on the left pocket, likely for an Iron Cross 1939 First Class, a good display opportunity. 

The interior retains the clear marking stamps mentioned above as well as the original dagger straps and tightening belt in the center. Each cuff retains their button.

This is a great chance to pick up a lovely example of a very rare and desirable Panzer Wrapper, the first in this configuration we’ve offered. Ready for further research and display!
