The Story

Original Item: Only One Available. The SS (Schutzstaffel - 'Protection Squadron') was originally formed in 1925, ostensibly to act as a small, loyal bodyguard unit to protect the FĂĽhrer, Adolf H. Under the direction of the ReichsfĂĽhrer-SS Heinrich Himmler, the SS grew to be the most ruthless and feared organization of the 20th century. They were the vanguard of NSDAP and eventually controlled nearly every function of German life and much of Occupied Europe.

When WWII began in earnest, the SS-VerfĂĽgungstruppe (SS-VT) (SS Dispositional Troops) became the Waffen-SS ("Armed SS"), an official military branch of the SS organization. Its formations included men from NSDAP ruled Germany, along with volunteers and conscripts from both occupied and unoccupied lands.

This is a lovely unmailed Waffen SS postcard, measuring  4 1/8" x 5 3/4" and in very good condition. It shows some age toning and a bit of wear and folding around the edges, but it shows no major damage or folding, and it looks to have been well cared for over the decades. It shows the SS flag in the upper left corner, and there is a Waffen SS Enlisted soldier in profile below, wearing the correct field gray uniform.

A great piece of German WWII memorabilia, ready to display!
