The Story

Original Item: Only One Set of Two Available. This is a lovely set of two cased German WWII Civil Service Faithful Service medals, a 2nd Class in Silver for 25 years and a 1st Class in Gold for 40 years. These medals were created to award long service to the country, and like many NSDAP awards recognized service rom long before the NSDAP takeover in 1933.

Both awards are in great shape, with the original wash well retained on the medal, and the enamel swas in great shape as well. Both have the correct blue ribbons showing light staining and wear, and they have brass pin attachments on the reverse. They would really be hard to improve upon.

The red leatherette case for the 25 year award is the simple type, without a hinge, and has the correct silver 25 inside a stylized circle on the lid. It has some wear to the exterior and splitting at the corners, but overall is in lovely condition.

The case for the 40 year award has the correct 40 inside a laurel wreath on the top, which has oxidized to a greenish color. It is the more "upmarket" type, and the hinge and lock are fully functional. The inside has minimal deterioration to the satin top and velvet bottom, save for a split in the material over the hinge. It is maker marked to Deschler & Sohn / MĂĽnchen. There is light overall wear to the exterior as well as some staining as shown in the pictures.

A wonderful medal set, ready to display!
