Original German WWII Th. 40 Astroeinrichtung “Astronomical Equipment” Device in Original Case - Waffenamt Stamped

Original Item. Only One Available. This is a very interesting german device in its original case, a Th. 40 Astroeinrichtung or “Astronomical Facility”. We assume it is some sort of navigational or sextant type device, but we couldn’t find much information about it. It is likely meant to allow viewing of the stars for navigational purposes.

The setup may be incomplete, but we aren’t sure as its the only one we’ve ever seen. The inside of the case is marked WaA202. There is no other maker mark we could find. The case measures 7 x 3 x 2 ½”. The leather strap is in good shape.
