Original German WWII USGI Captured and Dated Large NSDAP Political National Pennant Flag - 24" x 53"

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very good condition WWII German NSDAP Political National Wimpel (Pennant) Flag, which measures a large very displayable 53 inches in fly by 24 inches in hoist. These were usually flown inside, as it is not quite the weight of fabric needed to survive outdoors for a long period of time. It is of all cotton construction, and is single-sided with a single piece cotton white circles with a printed black swas (hook cross) sewn onto the red background. There the hoist end is sewn around a small lanyard, which is at least 20 inches long on each side of the pennant.

The white circle was signed by the USGI who captured it as follows:

We have checked the flag with a UV light, and there is no response, and the writing has faded towards brown, definitely indicating that it was signed during the WWII Period. We unfortunately have not been able to identify what type of unit R.R. 2000 is, and leave that as a nice research project for the future owner.

Condition is very good, showing just a bit of age toning overall, as well as some small holes and other damage consistent with light use. The red field is still quite vibrant, and this would definitely make an eye catching display piece.

The NSDAP, Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, (National Socialist German Worker’s Party), was originally founded in Munich as the DAP, Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, (German Worker’s Party), on January 5TH 1919. When Adolf AH joined the DAP in the autumn of 1919 he was to reform what was basically a debating society into an active political party. Appointed as the first chairman of the party on July 29TH 1921 AH was to restructure it along para-military lines in a hierarchy of four levels of government.
