Original Item: Only One Available. This is a lovely WWII German Wehrmacht Heer (Army) EM/NCO's Belt with Painted Steel Buckle (KoppelschloĂź). The buckle is embossed with the Heer motto GOTT MIT UNS ("God with us") on a ribbed background surrounding a closed-wing Wehrmachtadler Armed Forces Eagle inside a double rope border, with oak leaf and acorn branches at the bottom. Nice fieldgrey painted steel construction box buckle with a smooth background. The buckle is in good condition, with probably 30% of the original paint present on the exterior, with the expected wear and oxidation on the raised areas. The paint is even better on the reverse.
There is no maker mark on the buckle, however the leather tab is still clearly marked:
G. H. OSANG
1940
DRESDEN
This is a known maker of buckles for various organizations during the war.
The thick leather belt is in very good condition, with the original black finish on the exterior well retained, while there is wear to the brown finish on the interior. It is still soft without any major cracks or tears, except for the very end by the buckle, which looks like it had a small piece on the end cut off in a semi-circle. It measures about 35 inches overall, and is marked with 90 on the buckle end, for 90cm (35.4in.). It still has the full length adjustment tab with double rows of 7 holes, and the other end has an aluminum end clip. We can see a very faint maker marking on the leather where it is folded over, and below this is E 37, for 1937 processing through the Erfurt clothing depot. There is also the name Lörks written on the inside of the belt.
This lovely well broken in belt with buckle set would be a great addition to any German WWII collection!
