Original Item. Only One Available. This is a very interesting Prussian Kürassier (Curassier) Heavy Cavalry cartridge belt pouch, similar to those worn by British Lancers & Hussars during the mid-19th century. This is the first Prussian example we have ever seen, and we can find no similar examples, making this a very scarce piece.
The front bears a lovely silver-colored alloy frontplate (wappen) with the Prussian state eagle clutching a scepter and crown with FR in the center. The FR in the center is for the first Prussian King, Frederick I (Fridericus Rex), who elevated Prussia from a Duchy to a Kingdom.
The box is felt-lined under the flap and the small leather securing strap is still intact and working, hard to find. The pouch has small suspension rings to each side for attachment to a belt.
A very scarce pouch, ready for further research and display.
