Original Items. Only One Group Available. This is an exceptional Eigentumsstück (private purchase) Waffenrock with a well-named & 1908-dated Dienstmütze Visor and a 6-Place Imperial German Medal Bar. The Waffenrock is a dark-green doe-skin wool with red piping, collar and cuffs. There are no shoulder boards attached, but there is an outstanding six-place medal bar attached to the award loops consisting of the Bavarian Merit Cross 2nd Class, the Iron Cross 1914 Second Class, the South West Africa Medal (Rare), Landwehr XX Long Service Medal, the “Centenary” Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Medal, and the Austro-Hungarian Iron Cross Merit Medal.
The medal bar is in great condition and is Pre-1933 as it does not bear any later German medals or the 1914-1918 Honor Cross which was not issued until 1944. The medal bar has green backing and is an early pin-back. The Waffenrock is in good shape without much exterior mothing. The interior shows honest period wear without any tag we can find. All buttons are retained along with the interior straps and the hole for a dagger.
The Dienstmütze Visor is a lovely Jäger example sized 57 ½ under the sweatband. Also under the sweatband is the following inscription:
Oskar Höflich
25.10.08
This dates the visor and uniform to October 25th, 1908. There is absolutely research to be done on this group! The front of the cap bears a Black, White and Red Reichskokarde (Imperial Cockade) on the front of the crown, with a Black and White Cockade on the cap band for the Kingdom of Prussia. The visor is in great shape with very minimal mothing, and the interior shows heavy period wear with sweat-staining on the sweatband and crown. The celluloid sweat shield is broken in the center and pieces are still coming off of it. The phrase Extra-Prima is also stamped under the sweatband.
This is an outstanding uniform & medal bar group, ready for further research and display!
