Original Item: Only One Available. This 6x25 field glass is WWI manufactured and of superior quality to wartime examples. Small field glasses were highly preferred by German officers due to their convenience. This example still has blurry optics which could be adjusted and a leather carry case. It is nicely marked as follows on the central adjustment:
Fernglas 08
109085
Emil Busch A-G. Rathenow
The left hinge is marked III.17 for 1917. There is heavy loss to the textured coating of the barrels. The strap is entirely gone.
The included leather case is designed to strap to the waist belt and combat suspenders, and was made by E. Leitz of Wetzlar. It still has the original Gebrauchsanweisung fĂĽr das Fernglas 08 (Instructions for use for the binoculars 08) attached to the inside of the top cover. The leather is in good shape, though the top closure straps have degraded and are now broken.
Overall a fair service-used example of the classic eye piece for German infantry officers during WWI, complete with the correct case!
