Paul Ludwig Hans Anton von Beneckendorff und von Hindenburg (2 October 1847 – 2 August 1934), usually shortened to Paul von Hindenburg, was a German field marshal and statesman who led the Imperial German Army during World War I. He later became president of Germany from 1925 until his death. During his presidency, he played a key role in the NSDAP seizure of power in January 1933 when, under pressure from his advisers, he appointed Adolf H as chancellor of Germany.
This is a great 10 ¼ x 13 ¼” framed photo of Generalfeldmarschall Paul von Hindenburg, 1847 - 1934, circa 1915. It is a contemporary colour print, printed by Stalling-Verlag, Oldenburg, from a photoby Nicola Perscheid, Berlin. He is wearing the uniform of a Generalfeldmarschall à la Suite des 3. Garde-Regiment-zu-Fuss.
A caption beneath states: “Immer weiter vorwärts für Kaiser und König!” or “Ever onward for Emperor and King!”.
