Original Imperial Japanese Pre-WWII Ancillary Field Telephone Handset & Case by Kyoiku Electric Co. - Dated 1928

Original Item. Only One Available. This is a very interesting variation of the Japanese Pre-WWII field telephone, housed in a relatively smaller leather case with a nickel-finished handset and spare mouthpiece with leather straps to attach to the head. There is also a morse code signal device in the adjacent compartment. 

The set is mostly devoid of markings except when you remove the large box in the one compartment, which reveals a data plate to the side denoting manufacture by Kyoiku Electric Co. Ltd. although this translation may not be exact. Under this is the date of manufacture, translating to Showa 3, Month 2, for February 1928, very early!

Attached to the handset is a separate smaller cord with a plug device to attach to the conventional Field Telephone unit.

The leather case is very sound with belt loops on the reverse for carry. There is some wear to the leather especially in the straps which hold the lids. The set measures 9 ½ x 2 ¼ x 6 ½”.
