The Story
Original Item. Only One Available. This is a very scarce original WWII-manufactured Japanese rifle sling for the Type 38 Arisaka rifle. Original slings like this are getting harder to find and are a crucial part of completing an authentic display or restoration of a Type 38. This example shows heavy service wear with a sizable partial tear in the leather.
The sling has a great dark color and is mostly in good pliable condition minus the one spot where there is a ¼” long tear in the leather. This is close to one of the adjustment holes. The buckle still works great without any serious oxidation, and the small knob is still present. There are some very faint markings which may have originally been Kanji, but they are too worn to tell.
A great worn example of a scarce Type 38 Rifle sling, ready for further research and display.
