Original Iranian GWOT YM-1 AP Mine Dated 1996 - Afghan Bringback - Inert

Original Item. Only One Available. This is a lovely example of the Iranian YM-1, a High-Explosive-Blast (HE-Blast), plastic, waterproof, highly blast-resistant, scatterable, Anti-Personnel (AP), landmine incorporating a blast-overpressure mechanism preventing initiation in the event of sudden shock or Impact (IMP), externally identical to the VS-50. Like all deactivated ordnance, this mine is Not Available for Export.

Manufactured in Iran and usually green, black or sand coloured the landmine is known to have been used in Afghanistan and Iran. The landmine is a direct copy of the Italian TS-50 and VS-50 PRESSURE-actuated HE-Blast AP landmines. The landmine may be hand-emplaced or scattered by a ground vehicle or helicopter carried dispenser and uses a mechanical fuze incorporating a spring-loaded striker. A pneumatic system is used to release the striker, preventing actuation if the fuze is subjected to short-duration shock.

This example is green and is in great shape overall. It retains markings in yellow on the bottom:

The mine still unscrews into two pieces to allow inspection of the interior. This is the first example of this scarce mine we have offered, and was very likely brought back by an American soldier during the War in Afghanistan.
