Original Item. Only One Available. This is a very niche model of sword, an Italian 1888 Cavalry Officer’s sword. This sword dates to the Pre-World War I period. Overall condition is fair, with heavy wear to the hilt and blade, with the blade appearing to have been worn down on one side, as the etching appears to be missing one end. The blade decoration is tremendous and quite detailed, and there is a maker’s marking, although it is far too worn to read.
The guard is heavily worn with loss of finish, and the grip shows wear but is still present. The 33¼” blade is in fair condition but does appear to have been worn down on the sharp edge as some of the etching appears to be missing. The blade shows heavy wear but was kept well enough in its scabbard. The overall length is 39”.
The original scabbard shows heavy loss to the plating but is still intact with its two suspension rings. A very worn example but one that has survived a lot.
Comes ready for further research and display.
Approximate Dimensions:
Blade Length: 33 1/4"
Overall length: 39“
Scabbard length: 35”
