Original Italian Pre-WWI Through WWII Era Medal Grouping - (4) Items

Original Items: Only One Lot Available. This is a lovely lot of four different Italian medals dating from the pre-WWI period through WWII period. All medals retain their ribbons, but are in varying degrees of condition.

- RARE Italy Commemorative Medal for the Italian Colonization Campaign in Africa 1887 1896: Commemorative Medal for the Colonization Campaign in Africa (1887 - 1896) that led to the establishment of the first Italian colonies in Italian Somaliland and Eritrea and to the defeat during the 1rst War of Abyssinia (Ethiopia). The medal was instituted in 1894, by King Umberto.

- Italian Unification Commemorative Medal 1848 1870 King Umberto: Silver Commemorative Military Medal for the Unification of Italy, 1848 - 1870. The medal was instituted by King Umberto in 1887 and was issued to the members of the Armed Forces in order to mark the annexation of Rome and of the Papal States, to Italy, in  1870.

- Italy Cross for War Volunteers in the Spanish Civil War: For members of the Italian volunteer troops who took part in the Spanish Civil War 1936-1939. The medal was established in 1940.

- Italy WWII MVSN Blackshirts Militia Long Service Cross for 10 Years: The Cross was established in 1933 and the Gladius sword in 1938, following the Wars for the Colonization of Africa (War against Ethiopia).
