Original Item: Only One Available. This is a lovely example of what appears to be a high quality WWII Imperial Japanese Army Major General Officer’s uniform tunic. The jacket which is presented without any extensive damage or wear, bears two collar tabs for the rank of Major General, with a small bullion cuff star stitched onto each cuff.
This Model 1943 is a light weight, high quality, private purchase service tunic constructed from olive drab colored wool. Its single-breasted front closure has five, flat brass buttons to it, each of which are of gold-colored metal, dual hooks and eyes at the throat, along with five original collar liner attachment studs. Two button-down, scalloped pocket flaps, with exaggerated points, are to the chest while two unbuttoned, straight pocket flaps are to the hips. The interior is fully lined with a small, button and scallop flap pocket to the left and right of the interior.
The bullion cuff stars are in great condition. We couldn’t find any markings on the interior, common on a bespoke example.
