Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is an interesting Japanese āInner Diameter Measuring Deviceā set in the original case with original capture papers dated December 24th, 1945 on letterhead from the Army Airways Communication System 769th AAF Base Unit (139th AACS Squadron) letterhead. The set was taken home as a souvenir by Corporal William Hansjergen, ASN: 35789483.
The interior retains many of the pieces along with the gauge marked to TOYO SEIKI K.K. of Toyko. There are three copies of the capture paper printed on onion paper.
The case measures 22 ½ x 8 ¼ x 4 ¼ā and is in good shape with two working latches. The Kanji on the lid translates to Inner Diameter Measuring Device and a stamp to the right of the lid reads 160-250, the range of the device.
An outstanding captured set, ready for further research and display!
