Original Item. Only One Available. This is a very interesting WWII Japanese “Meatball” flag which we were told is meant for use by staff officers, or possibly even governmental use. The flag has two headers, likely meant for two different staffs, or an L-pole. The meatball in the center is heavily stitched into the shape of a pie chart, a very interesting construction choice, but it’s clear this flag was meant to withstand heavy service wear.
The flag measures 38 x 38” and is in great condition overall. It is double-sided, and the only marking is a small ovular stamp at the corner where the two headers meet. The flag is of a heavy canvas material and is one of the nicest and most unique Japanese flags we have seen.
A very nice example, ready for further research and display.
