Original Item. Only One Available. This is an interesting Post-WWII example of a Soviet SPSh-44 Flare pistol which was modified into a 90mm AL-1 Line Throwing Pistol. These would be used to create links between ships to save survivors. It is marked on the left side of the frame with the designation, serial number, and year of production, 1963. It still retains the handle well.
The barrel shows heavy paint loss and oxidation, but the frame has held up a bit better. The handle is in good order without any serious cracks. The serial number appears to be No. BH-184, and 184 is stamped on numerous parts of the pistol including the trigger and hammer. The small button on the bottom of the trigger opens the breech to allow for the loading. The pistol still dry-fires well.
The pistol measures roughly 21” long with an 11½” barrel. One of the most interesting line throwing pistols we have seen. Comes ready for further research and display.
