The Story

Original Item. Only One Available. This is a great Soviet propaganda poster from the “Great Patriotic War”, World War II. “Spring Works of the Red Army” at the top. The poster shows the three stages of these works, “Going to the Field”, “Fertilizing the Fields”, and “First Furrell”. This is shown as soldiers arriving to the battle and killing as many Germans as possible, leaving those bodies to “fertilize the field”, and reaping the “crop” of that labor.

The poster was designed by Muratov and published by Boyevoy Karandash, RSFSR Artist publishing house, Poster No. 88. It measures 14 x 20 1/2”.

The poster was designed by I. Muratov, verse by B. Timofeev. Boyevoy Karandash, Combat Pencil, was a creative association of Leningrad artists who produced propaganda posters and collections of satirical drawings starting from 1939.
