Original U.S. / British Colonial Era Blacksmith Hand Forged Trade Tomahawk with Original Period Shaft - Extremely Scarce

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a remarkable and authentic piece of history - a trade tomahawk that was likely made by a British or American blacksmith during the 18th century. The tomahawk's head is in good condition despite some minor pitting, and has a distinct look with evident crude iron tool markings. The blade is designed for cutting and chopping, and was likely used for tasks such as felling small trees, building structures and making firewood. The handle of this example is absolutely original to the tomahawk, and has clearly been attached together for over 200 years.

The length of the head of the tomahawk measures approximately 4 inches with an edge width of 2 inches, while the handle is about 12 3/8 inches long. The handle has heavy wear but doesn’t have any structural damage minus a crack near the top from the wedge piece. The overall length is roughly 12½”.
